Vacation Tahoe...Part 1

In South Lake Tahoe we stayed in Marriott Vacation Resort. (photo off web)
We love this resort. The kids swam their guts out. They also have a private beach on the water. This is not a hotel, it is a timeshare condos. So our suite had a full living room, kitchen, and bedrooms. We bought alot of our food at Costco and ate in our place.
We love to vacation at Lake Tahoe. Our favorite thing to do is raft down the Truckee River.
It is about a 3 hour float.

But we make lots of stops along the river to get out of the raft to jump off our favorite rock.

We also park the raft to get out in some of the shallow parts of the river. The kids and their dad had a blast skipping rocks.
Mason had Shelby and Connor do most of the rowing on this trip down the river. He felt it was good for them to learn to work together. When paddling a raft the 2 rowers must be in sync. Even when we got to some rapids and large rocks in the water, Mason still made the kids work it out.
Clover loved getting out of the raft to look at all the rocks. Family in the back skipping rocks.
Shelby Laura....getting a bad burn on her back. (me too).

South Lake Tahoe Vacation...part 2

While in Tahoe we hiked to several lakes.
Eagle Lake...can you see Connor?
We did a lot of Hiking on our Tahoe Vacation. This is hiking up to Eagle Lake. It's about a 2 mile hike to a beautiful placid lake nestled in breathtaking back-country.
A waterfall along the trail to Eagle Lake.
Clover had a sweet ride on her dad's back, on the hike. She was worn out.
This is another hike to Emerald Lake.

The only way down to Emerald Lake is to hike it. The hike is down a steep cliff, but was hikeable for families.
The scenery was amazing at Emerald Lake.

Quick Visit To Oroville

Visiting GREAT Grandma Coltrin (Mason's grandmother Enid Coltrin). Great Grandma's health is doing very poor. We felt we should visit her and take a photo while there. We are sure this would be the last time we will see her.
Before we went to Tahoe, we drove up to Oroville CA to visit some of Mason's family. A few family members came up also. Mason's brother Mark and his wife Dawnette. Mason's sister Allysa and husband Ben with kids. Mason's brother Evan was there too. It was fun to see family members after a long time.

Grandma blowing bubbles to keep the little kids happy.
Allysa and her dad...such the loving family!

New Teen Bedroom

Shelby has been begging for some time to change her room. I told her she has to earn $50 for paint, and then she can redo her room. This week she handed me $50 and so the room makeover was in full swing.
These are her BEFORE SHOTS of her room. (take note of the white table...will later explain).
Shelby hated the salmon color on the walls. (In the beginning, this was not her room but a guest bedroom). So when she took over the room we bought her bedding and curtains to "teen it up".
Gone is the salmon in with the dark purple...this above photo looks lavendar...not.
These are the AFTER SHOTS....the curtains are her old curtains...we will change those out for long black and white ones. For now the pink doesn't look bad, and they will stick around until I get the right ones up.

Shelby and I worked on a framing project for her walls. This is framed black and white fabric.

A better look at our wall art.
Note... this is the white table in the "before" shot. I spray painted it black and then cut some leftover white beadboard and glued it to the top. Turned out CUTE!

Shelby loves her new room!!!! I love it too.

20 Year Reunion

It has been 20 years since I graduated from high school. I dragged my poor husband with me, and it was the most painful night of his life. But I had fun seeing everyone. This is my very good friend from school, who looks EXACTLY the same!

It's been weird to think that much time has really gone by. In abt a week will be our 18th wedding anniversary. I cant believe it's been that long too! It was crazy to hear so many people in my class say that they have kids that have graduated from high school.
